The MAXIMA softball league is pleased to invite you to its annual tournament. A proud new member of the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Association (NAGAAA), our league is set to host a top-notch event up to NAGAAA’s high standards. Montreal welcomes over a million gay and lesbian tourists each year. Extending over 15 city blocks, its Village includes a wide range of bars, cafes, patios, bath houses, discos with top DJs, sex clubs, erotic dancers, hip restaurants, as well as a major hotel. Maxima will be hosting its 13th annual tournament at a four-diamond complex in Varennes, a half-hour drive from downtown Montreal. We will be arranging transportation for teams without vehicles.

Here’s the list: THE SIGHTS Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions: Rendez-Vous Montreal 2011 Tournament Rules 1. All games in pool play are 50 minutes long, with up to seven innings and no new innings after 45 minutes. All double-elimination games (C and D division) are 60 minutes long, with up to seven innings and no new innings after 55 minutes. Semifinal, final and "if" games will be five (5) innings with no time limit. During pool play, home team is determined by a flip of the coin by the umpire. After pool play, the higher seeded team will be home team. 2. Batters start with a 1-1 count. 3. All teams must be at the diamonds 15 minutes before their scheduled game time and must be prepared to start early. 4. Lineups must be ready for the umpire 5 minutes before the start of the game. All players and substitutes must be on the lineup card. 5. Game start is forfeit time (no grace period). 6. No jewellery whatsoever is permitted during the game (medic alert bracelets and necklaces are not considered jewellery). Any player participating in the game wearing jewellery will be asked to remove it immediately. S/he may not be permitted to play until it is removed. 7. Teams can bat up to and including 12 players, and field any 10 of them. A team is allowed to play 9 fielders with no out for the tenth spot. 8. Any player arriving before the start of the game may be added (up to 12) to the lineup as a starter. After batting through the lineup, any players who show up may be added as substitutes to the roster. 9. If a player in the starting lineup is substituted for by a player on the bench, the starter may not re-enter the game. 10. The catcher must tag the runner out at home plate. 11. Up to three courtesy runners are permitted for each game. The courtesy runner is the last out. 12. Batters must be ready on the on-deck circle. 13. The game is over if a team has a 15 or more run lead in or after the bottom of the 3rd inning or a 10 or more run lead in or after the bottom of the 4th or any later inning, except for final and semifinal games, where the game is over only if a team has a 15 or more run lead in or after the bottom of the 4th or any later inning. 14. Ties are allowed in the pool play round. 15. The international tie-breaking rule will be used during all double elimination, semifinal and championship games after 7 innings or expiration of time (whichever comes sooner). 16. Over-the-fence homeruns are not permitted in D division and will result in an out. In C division, each team is allowed one over-the-fence homerun per game, with subsequent homeruns counting as outs. 17. The umpire scorecard is the official score; ensure that it is checked after every inning and at the end of the game with the umpire. The umpire is responsible for submitting the card to a Rendez-Vous Montreal official. 18. All bats must be ASA-approved (stamped) and umpires will check prior to game. See ASA-approved list. Seeding: Seeding for double elimination will be a combination of your division declaration and pool play game results.
